提起六十年代樂隊，不得不提The Velvet Underground(TVU)這隊美國樂隊，代表專輯有《The Velvet Underground & Nico》。如果沒有聽過TVU這樂隊，相信大家對它的專輯封面或多或少都有印象吧！特別是封面「香蕉」，由知名當代藝術家Andy Warhol操刀，亦是TVU的經理人或製造人，生前投放大量精力於樂隊。題外話，大碟文藝氣息極高，非常適合收藏。

TVU樂隊主要屬於迷幻搖滾(Psychedelic Rock)及實驗搖滾(Experimental Rock)類型，《TVU & Nico》音樂的題材圍繞「社會禁忌」，例如濫藥(Drug Abuse)、性虐戀(Sadomasochism)、賣淫(Prostitution)及性欲變態(Sexual Deviant)，果然「走得非常前」。當時大碟銷程慘淡，題材極度爭議，受到各大媒體批評。至於，製作專輯除了有Andy Warhol打理，亦有金牌製作人Tom Wilson(曾與Bob Dylan，The Mothers of Invention 及Simon & Garfunkel等合作)聯手打造。

另外，在歌曲後段(4:30秒後)，除了鼓聲加快，最明顯的是強列電子小提琴聲。對筆者而言，電子小提琴聲刺耳，可說是令人相當厭惡。但是在Heroin歌曲發揮了極大作用，描述瀕死的一刻，以刺耳電子小提琴聲形容當時不知所措、恩緒混亂、崩潰及迷惘不安等。最後，歌曲尾段節奏開始放慢，可以說是Fade Out技術。筆者則認為是歌曲中主人翁死亡的象徵，在經歷了鼓聲加快及剌耳的電子小提琴聲後，節奏開始放慢，好比一個大量注射毒品的身體狀況。Heroin歌曲絕對不是歌頒濫藥，是一首清楚描述「道友」一生的歌曲，「濫藥」與「死亡」劃上等號，諷刺味道濃厚。
TVU實在是一對「走得相當前」的樂隊，在六十年代當時，究竟有誰會知道海洛英是甚麼的一回事？會有甚麼影響？為什麼令音樂人愛不擇手？TVU的Heroin充分解答了上述的問題。
