Rolling Stone 老是常出現?在1965年，Like a Rolling Stone作曲填詞演唱都是由Bob Dylan一手包辦。完成1965年英倫巡迴音樂會之後，回美國途中，Bob Dylan在疲勞的狀態下創作出這首歌曲。Like a Rolling Stone，屬於民謠搖滾(Folk Rock)，歌曲長達6分鐘，Columbia 唱片公司。歌曲可喻為Bob Dylan標誌性的時刻—由民謠歌手轉為搖滾巨星，成為二戰後最具影響力的流行曲之一。
Like A Rolling Stone 這些歌曲受到大眾媒體關注，不少著名雜誌都有點名稱讚該歌曲，成為歷史上不可不知道歌曲之一。
另外，歌曲在製作過程可說是相當困難，令Bob Dylan 絞盡腦汁。經過一番嘗試，改變為Rock搖滾曲風，成為了Bob突破性的發現。但其實當時Columbia 唱片公司不太喜歡Bob這一個決定，因為歌曲長度太長，大約六分鐘。另外，歌曲過重的插電聲音(Electric sound)，令到當時發行遲疑不決。最後，當然也推出了歌曲。
歌曲翻唱歌手及樂團多不勝數，當中有The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley and the Wailers及Green Day等。Rolling Stone真的老是常出現，歌曲在同名—滾石雜誌最偉大五百首單曲列為榜首。
