歌曲Needle of Death在1965年由Bert Jansch「自彈自唱」，創作更是一手包辦，歌曲長達3分半鐘，屬於民謠(Folk)類型。在1965年，推出首張以個人名字為名的專輯大碟，錄製專輯地方相當簡陋：在倫敦一個小單位的廚房錄製，而且資源亦相當匱乏：一支麥克風及問朋友借來的結他。
即使在這個沒有械材及技術的錄製程況下，亦無阻Bert Jansch對音樂的熱情及執著，作品更令不少人受到影響，當中有Neil Young，Nick Drake及Jimmy Page等。
